eo-tech

Post by Daltex1 »

After going to the range today aith my S&W AR15 it is obvious that I need more range time, I was wondering if anyone could explain the diffrences in the eo-tech models I have seen some for around 350.00, so I went to Target Master and they had one but were wanting 550.00 this seems a little high or is there that much diffrence between 2 diffrent models?

Daltex1: Without checking the specifics, my best recollection is that the significant difference between the model prices have to do with night-vision capability. I have a model 512, and got it just under the $350 price you mentioned. The model 511 is smaller (uses "N" size batteries, I believe); the 512 uses common "AA" batteries and is a bit heavier. Neither have night-vision capability. For that I think you have to step up the higher prices and models in the 55x series.

BTW, I love my EOTech 512. Every time I turn it on I'm amazed at the technology, and the elevation and windage adjustments are very fine, making for exceptional accuracy at CQB distances.

There are several models currently on the market and a few others from previous generations.

Have a look at their web site for the current stuff and you can also find descriptions of the previous models elsewhere in the web.

I have a first generation Holo-Sight and have enjoyed it thoroughly, but recently it stopped working and I just haven't had the opportunity to send it in.

Daltex:
Where are you? I'm in Sachse, near Garland. I've got an eotech on my AR-15 if you'd like to try one out.

Of the modern ones, the main differences are the type of battery it takes, and wether or not it can work with light amplification equipment.

Ah, I just finally noticed your PM. I'm horrible about checking them. I'm shooting this weekend, but we can go out when you get back next weekend.
