Sure. I won't bore people by repeating the whole story, but some time ago I was disarmed as a pretense to run a serial number and/or simply harass me for having a Texas CHL. That convinced me to let my license expire and rely on MPA instead of wasting money on an overpriced Texas CHL. How's that for bringing it back on-topic?

Now, would you care to respond to the concerns Oehamilton raised in the first post of this thread?
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

Well done, he fixed it.

His prior signature line, every single time I read it, reminded me of his service to our country and the service of those like him who gave their last ounce of devotion to preserve your right to use indecent language in public here on this forum, where we have women present, and elsewhere in public, I would assume.

Why is it the rules apply to Marquez but not to you? You are an exception?

Just sayin',

Sure you bet (thought I already had...)

But, they are conducting mandatory firearm checks for all stopped CHL drivers to verify that their firearm is not stolen!

Have you ever heard of a greater violation of your civil rights, discrimination and out right insult to all CHL holders?
Not a violation of civil rights, simply because one don't like what is legally being done inside the lines of authority drawn.

Insult to all CHL Holders.. well maybe at least an insult to those that are not violent criminals. Clearly there are those out there though http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/chl/re ... vrates.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just because its a law, doesn't mean that it does violate my rights or discriminating.

Maybe I'm not not calling it the right thing....

What's the difference between running a CHL's gun's serial number to make sure his gun is not stolen just because he's a CHL holder verses a black man getting stopped in a white neighborhood just because he's black to make sure he's not a criminal?

The US Constitution makes it illegal to discriminate on the basis of race or a few other areas. It does not include the decision to carry a firearm in the protected classes.

In all honesty, I agree with your point that there is no reason to assume the gun is stolen and that this is a form of discrimination. I am just pointing out why the argument is not valid the way you made it.

Just be ready to post bail
They will arrest you for assault of an officer

I would just get their badge number, and their name, and a good description of them and then file a formal complaint
CC your state rep when you file the complaint, also CC an attorney

Assault of an officer? For getting a badge number and letting them know they'd hear from a lawyer? How so?
