Tisas Turkish 1911's: Good value like an RIA? Comments pls.

Bud's Gun Shop is offering the Tisas 1911's at prices similar to Rock Island Armory 1911's.
If you navigate around Bud's website, you can watch one of their guys in a video praising these weapons as high quality & good value.

I had never heard of Tisas before. The idea that they meet ISO 9001 standards and NATO AQAP standards sounds good, but
it seems suspicious that 100% of the reviews gave them 5 stars. No complaints??

By the way I don't know what Nato's AQAP means with regards to gun quality.
Generally the acronym AQAP refers to "Al Quaeda in the Arabian Peninsula."

I'm sure many of you experienced 1911 guys might want to dismiss this Turkish brand out of hand, but has anyone actually
shot one of these? Or do you have a friend who owns one?

The reason I ask about this brand is that I have been contemplating getting a 1911, but I'm not sure if I want to go RIA,
Taurus PT1911, Springer 1911, or Sig 1911. Those are the ones on my short list.

I have 2 RIA 1911s, and love them both.
My EDC is a 3.5" Commander-sized, which moved my full-size Match to
range duty and home protection.

I don't have any experience with any other brand of 1911 so my opinion
is biased based on what I own.

I do know there are a world of choices, so good luck with whatever you
decide!

RIA has a similar (great) warranty, like Springfield. :thumbs2:
What kind of warranty does Tisas have? Any? Maybe? Huh?

That reminds me of the funny ad where the foreign man named Peggy is doing
customer service out of his hovel/chicken coop somewhere in a "developing" country!

Andy's comment about 1 of them blowing up after 250 rounds is certainly disconcerting.

Re: the Girsan brand of 1911's. Bud's was promoting them just a short time ago, but I just
checked their 1911 section, sorted by gun brand, and they are non-existent.

Methinks that with so many proven brands of 1911's out there, these Girsan/Tisas may be
for some brave "early adopters".
