We didn't get the Fastfire dialed in very well yet. We were zeroing at 50 yards, and I can't even see the target well at that distance. It just looks like a blurry white rectangle to me—hence the need for a 5X optic. So I handed the rifle off to my son to see if he could do it. He struggled with it, partly because the elevation seemed to work backward of what was indicated by the arrow around the elevation screw. So I put off getting it dialed in until I go back there and try it at 25 yards. That's all I really need it for anyway, is for up close.AustinBoy wrote:TAM,
Any issues with accuracay on the FastFire?
I ask because I have a very similar set up with a FastFire on top of my scope.
Being that high above the barrel, I am worried that the FastFire would be considerably off say at 5 yards and then 35 yards.
I havent had a chance to shoot this set up yet.
BTW, NICE set up!!

Also, I might try mounting the Fastfire on the side of the scope too. In order to see the red dot, I have to lift my chin pretty far up off the stock to look over the top of the scope, and it feels kind of unnatural up that high. And if that doesn't work for me, I'll get one of those 45º offset mounts to hang off my top rail. So it isn't really sorted out yet.....and it may not work for me. If it doesn't, that's OK. I paid a good price for it used but brand new from another member, so I'll probably sell it for that same price to someone else. That person will get a good price, and I won't lose any money.
I haven't shot it at night, but I've sighted through it. On the lowest setting, it's not bad at all. The lowest setting during day time doesn't really change the color of the reticle much at all; it still looks black.george wrote:Have you actually tried to use it at night? I tried several illuminated scopes, but the light was so bright that it washed out the target. The Eotech was the only one I found that actually could be dimmed enough to shoot at night. Of course, it was not magnified. And, I am shooting without any auxiliary lught source (just me and the moon).
