It feels like another Austin get together moment ...

Post by j1132s »

Hey Guys! Thanks O6nop for your help.

I think it is time for another CHL Forum Austin get together. Last time we kind of merged the THR and CHL meet. Check out the after action reports: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.p ... 173&page=8

Is there any interest for an early May get together ?

Bring your .22LRs pistols/rifles for some high-volume, low-cost practice!

Well, I've got *one* .22, the Marlin Model 60 I was shooting at the last meet. I'd be down for anything, though.

I'll be there today for the Range Orientation at ARC, by the way. You gonna be around?

Check this thread for something I wrote about maybe shooting with you:

Let us know when you want to hold the shoot, and I'll probably be able to go.

Almost any caliber is fine; I've bought a bunch of steel that's only rated for .22LR that's all.

I'm glad to have you in the ARC. I was planning to shoot the silhouette match they're having there, but a friend needed some help with the ARC table at the gun show (also, I'm not too thrilled about shooting in master in silhouette).

Perhaps we'll meet up at the next CHL forum gathering.

60+ views, but only 1 guy interested in meeting?

Well, If it's any help, I still have all the steel we shot last time. The 2 thick hardened steel plates will take anything we shoot at them, I think. I shot my heavy steel cores at them and only put a 1/8" hit to the surface of them

I think I'm gonna cash in the big chunk of aluminum once I take a few pictures of it. It's been sitting in the back of my van wasting my gas, so I figure I'd go down to the metal yard and get a return on it. I'm guessing that sucker weighs at least 80 pounds, so I should get some good money for it as scrap aluminum.

I'm interested in any get-together. It always seems my availability isn't in sync with anybody else's. j1132s - you know this very well!
I'll do my best to make the next one, organizing isn't my thing, tho'.

Looking at the ARC Calendar, the second Saturday in May ( 12th) has the D/E range free, or also Sunday the 6th. What say you?
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

A couple of places we can go, depending on what you want to do:

1. ARC -- a great range, rifle & pistol shooting, steel targets. Last time, range E worked out great with its 40,60,77,100m berms.

2. ctxpta (http://www.ctxpta.com) -- allows drawing from holster, movement, cost $, pistol only. We can set up IDPA classifier/scenario to practice.

I'm free on both May 6 or 12th, so whichever is more convenient for you.
