WTB NFA LW-15 COMPLETE lower

Post by baldeagle »

If you're an FFL in the DFW area and have one or normally stock them, I'd like to get one. If you're a private owner and have one you're willing to sell, let's talk price.

I'm not willing to pay the insane prices they're asking for on places like Armslist, so if you're trying to get $200 for a $109 lower (or $425 for a stripped lower! like one was asking on Armslist), don't bother responding. I'll wait or go without before I pay that much. NFA now lists them for $169.99 (but doesn't have any and isn't taking orders), which is more than enough. That's the absolute most I'm willing to pay, and I'll look around a lot before I pay that much.

My friend Joseph (who runs JoeBobs) does occasionally get them in, but New Frontier is VERY slow at production right now (not by choice). If you want one _now_ you either:
1) Get VERY lucky and find an online retailer that has one (like, lightning-strike lucky)
2) Purchase a stripped lower (can be found for about $100, but still hard to come by) and build it up yourself
3) Purchase the stripped upper with the LPK installed, so you still need to purchase a stock kit. That will run you around $140 + stock kit price.

Bottom line is that this lower is in high demand and will be hard to find for a couple more months. My advice is to wait (and since you refuse to pay "insane" prices, I think you will have to ;-) ).

FYI: The few lowers I had sold for an average of $375 on GB last month.

EDIT: Sign up for email notifications on JoeBob's site to be notified when more lowers come in. Fair warning: I know a LOT of FFL dealers that are camping that list too.\

Second Edit: Good news though, this was just posted by New Frontier: "We will now be shipping all of our weekly production to continue to fill dealer orders (ahead of schedule) and we plan on being completely finished filling all back orders by 10 March at which time we will resume both retail and dealer orders."

So, just wait a few more weeks :tiphat:

A complete lower sans buttstock just sold on GB for $175, so prices do seem to be coming down. I don't blame anyone for asking $375 if that's what the market will pay, but I ain't paying it. If worse comes to worse, I'll sell the upper when it arrives and go back to my bolt action .22. The only reason I'm trying to put together an AR-15 is because a lot of politicians don't think I should have one.

I bought 3 of the complete lowers when they were $99. Haven't had any issues with them. I have also purchased two of the stripped lowers. I built one out using the complete upper kit from Model 1 Sales. This kit includes everything you need minus the stripped lower to build out the rifle. The last one I built out was a 10.25" pistol. I have under $800 into it.
The last stripped lower (purchased Sunday) cost me $79 plus tax.
I have two more complete lowers on order @ $169 each.

Thanks to OldCannon for turning me on to the NFA lowers and connecting me with Carlos at DFW Shoots.

So nobody has a New Frontier complete lower that they'll sell? It will go to a good home. :bigear:

Try the lewisville gun show this weekend, prices have been coming down so you might get lucky. I'm going to try and find a billet lower myself.

To show you how much I know about it, when I saw the title of the thread as NFA Lower I was thinking a select fire unit! :smilelol5:

Now that I got around that, I'm kinda curious as to the demand for this particular lower? Better in what ways than any other lower?

Edit: After reading some other threads here on NFA lowers (even one that was for sale) I now know that they are apparently well received (well made) Poly Lowers at reasonable prices (normally).
