Loadmaster Primer Pin Buzzer Mod

Post by RX8er »

I thought I would share my mod here on the site that got me started in reloading.

All, I don't think I have contributed at all but I have spent considerable amount of time reading. I can't say as I have come across this one and if I have, please let me know.

Thanks so much to Jumping Frog for helping me along so much. He must have replied to about 50 posts of mine over on the Texas CHL forum.

I have run about 1500 9mm and .40 through my load master. I am still getting my "chant" down every pull of the handle. I find that I am sometimes missing that the primer pin has pushed up because of the different primer mountings.

To combat this, I spliced in to my existing LED lights I had and added a micro switch to the top of the pin and added a buzzer that goes off if the pin is raised. I could have just wired the LED to the NC side of the switch and had the switch trip to NO thus turning off the lights. I needed a reason to use the buzzer I had laying around.

I plan to sand and paint (red of course) the metal bracket I bent for this. The blue just doesn't match.

Your thoughts are welcome!
