My preferred carry method is a t-shirt with a button up shirt on the outside, unbuttoned. I wear a OWB holster (Fobus). I am having ahard time with the wind. I almost have to walk around holding the shirt tail down so I don't get exposed. Is there a better answer?

I'll button the bottom button when outside sometimes.

I like the same cover that you do when I am not required to be dressed casual business or formal. I use 2 spots of velcro on button shirts when the wind is blowing. If I have on a snap shirt then I snap a coulpe.

I generally stick my hand in my pocket and "drag" a small portion of the shirttail in with it. If I'm carrying something and can't do that, I'll trap my shirt between my elbow and my side, and be careful about how I face the wind.

That's one of the many reasons I prefer IWB, tucked, carry.

I'm with Thane and Stevie on this one. I believe it's better then buttoning the shirt since it doesn't pull the shirt as tight around the gun, less chance of printing.

Yes, I know printing is not illegal, but neither is having the gun exposed by the wind. I just like avoiding both if possible

I've also read of people sewing small weights into the bottom of their shirts to help minimize the effects of the wind.

When the wind is strong or very gusty, the practical approach is to fasten the shirt with buttons, snaps, or velcro, as someone added. This means that you need to practice drawing and rehostltering from closed front cover.

When the wind is light and a sudden gust may open the shirt, then holding the shirt closed is acceptable. The key is to be subtle, instead of grabbing for the shirt, which may telegraph to others that you are hiding something. Make a smooth movement of the strong hand toward the shirt opening. Now use one or two fingers to apply just enough pressure to hold the shirt tail against your body. Experiment to find the most natural way to use this technique.

Get a small rare earth magnets.
Use one to stick the shirt to your gun, belt buckle, jeans rivets etc.

For that matter, a steel clip on your belt would make an adjustable anchor point.

I sometimes tuck my t-shirt over the gun and if the wind blows the button shirt up, it is still concealed.

With the short amount of time your shirt is blown up, it may print but should not be too noticable.

I always keep the bottom couple of buttons fastened, but for the occasional shirt that doesn't look or fit right that way, if it's windy, I "accidentally" tuck part of the tail into my right front pocket. Can't blow that way.
