Unless I'm missing a thread somewhere, I'm really surprised these are getting more attention here. I see more threads on what's going on in other states or even in DC than Texas.

Both Open Carry bills, if I'm reading the current versions, are no better than the last time and will waste the time of those that need to ensure they fail.

When will they get it, that we do NOT want to destroy all the work done over nearly 2 decades for the CHL? They need to leave 30.06 alone and allow private property owners to prohibit open carry if they so desire. It's the only way to preserve what we have now without going back nearly 150 years and fixing what was done then.

You're right, and thanks for that!! I've searched and only found a couple that aren't the ones I was hoping to find. I'm surprised they aren't stickied as I think bills were last time. Then again, there are so many sub-forums I don't visit much. I'm getting old and confuse easily.

I don't know about that. I think even Charles brought up last time that the burden of dual signs would not be supported but I think it would be obvious that it would get a lot of push-back....and rightfully so. There's a fine line of making it happen the right way and causing a lot of damage.

Not only that, but I think that if we require a "BUS" for businesses to prohibit OC, those that do would also likely go ahead and put up a 30.06 as well. TBH, I'd rather see gun busters prohibit OC, and leave 30.06 requirements for CC. Then, after a few years of no "blood in the streets", we can work on a BUS for OC. Basically the same process used to get CC passed and then where it is today. It'll be unlikely to see many businesses putting up 30.06 signs this way.

But I guess we'll have to wait till the substitute to see how they are working it.

They did not vote on it today cause Sen. Feinstein was not there. They are supposed to start on the AWB this Thursday now.
