Help!!....2 different last names on txdl & residency card..

Post by angels05ss »

My driver's license shows my married last name. I'm a legal permanent resident, but my current permanent resident card (green card) shows my maiden last name. It does not expire until 2015 therefore I have not renewed it. I tried purchasing my firearm before taking my chl class but they did not want to run my application because of the two different last names. Will this affect me in trying to take my chl class? Please help

Well, I don't really know the answer, but I see it is your first post, so WELCOME!

How hard is it to get an updated green card with your married name?

Welcome to the forum. :tiphat:

You are required to change any information on your green card by regulations. You need to get the green card updarted with your married name and any address change ASAP. Here is a link that will assist http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/ ... 2ca60aRCRD" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have heard of some men taking wife's family name mostly because wife's family name would end with her and he already has boys from past.
