I asked a similar question a year or two ago. Okay, I know you didn't ask a question, but I was also interested in that shotgun and the Benelli M4. One of our very own forum members, AndyC, recommended I talk to a guy down in Corpus. I did and about a year later I ended up with this ...

It's a few more pennies, but it is so nice and more versatile. I didn't know it at the time, but I think the minimum barrel length for skeet and trap is 21". This has a 21" barrel. So, I can use it for HD if I want to or 3-gun, skeet, trap, or 5-stand. I didn't think my budget would allow for it and saved up for almost a year before getting it.

However, I will keep an eye out for the Mossberg.

Nice, which one is that?

I wouldn't mind the JM edition, which has a retail of $599 at Academy, but no one has those of course.

What do you want to use it for?

If you are looking at 3-gun or other competitions I've heard great things about both the Benelli M2 and the Remington 1100 (of course I'm also in the market for one so we would have a bit of a fight on our hands ;-) )

It'll be used for a lot of things, HD, hunting, maybe skeet. Which is why I'm a little more focused on finding the JM Pro model. I've probably checked over 15 places throughout the states and no one has one in stock.

The 1100's are very nice guns. May look into one.

The JM Pro is nice especially if you want a gun ready for competition out of the box. If you find more than one let me know! ;-)

Will do. Academy here near Austin said they placed in order for some, so if I just so happen to catch them, I'll let you know.
