Third Renewal

Post by Murindo »

I started the renewal process for my third renewal about 60 days ago. I understand that I don't have to resubmit prints, a picture, or take the written and shooting tests although DPS can ask for a new picture or prints. When I check the status it always says waiting for me submit information. I emailed DPS through their link two weeks ago but haven't gotten answer.

Is is normal?

Just to be clear, you got your original license in 1999/2000 and renewed twice already, in 2004 and 2008.

Shouldn't have to submit photos or prints with any renewal (may ask you to do digital prints if your ink prints aren't up to snuff).
Class and range qualification are not required the third time you renew. This means you have had your CHL for 15 years and have already attended 3 classes and qualified on the range 3 times. (Emphasizing what tbrown has already stated.)

Yes, this is my third renewal. I did my original license and testing through a gun shop. Then I did two renewals with Charles Cotton at PSC. The last time they didn't like the ink prints and I had to provide digital prints. So I have digital prints on file.

My license doesn't expire until August so I've got time. I'm always disappointed in how long it takes DPS to respond.
