I just got in trouble for screaming at the TV!

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

I just got in trouble for screaming at the TV!

Post by Watchful »

I was channel surfing earlier tonight when I stopped to listen to a discussion on CNN. Anderson Cooper had a panel of 4 or 5 other esteemed Liberals on and they were discussing the proposed Immigration Bill. Now I know from the start which way CNN leans, and I am not a regular viewer, but I am curious how the other side thinks sometimes so I watch occasionally. Anderson was making the point that the Boston bombings had caused pause in some Congressmen's eagerness to support the Immigration bill. He was saying that many Congressmen want to revisit the bill to insure it is tight enough to prevent anymore "militant type" immigrants to slip into our country. All is well so far, I agree with that.

But then, one of the idiot panel members makes the statement; "I can't believe Congress would let such a highly emotional incident as the Boston bombings change the way they think about legislation as important as the Immigration Bill".

That's when I lost it... WHAT?!?! I screamed at the TV along with a few other choice expletives. This is exactly what the whole left-wing, gun grabbing liberal idiots do every day! After the Sandy Hook shootings, all you hear is :Oh, we have to do something for the CHILDREN". This attitude and hypocrisy makes me sick.

I yelled at the TV so loudly, the wife came running into the room to see if I was OK. She then yelled at me for scaring her. So now I am here to finish venting...

That's what we call "Preaching to the choir, brother."

BTW, I don't even know what channel CNN or MSNBC is on.

I don't mean to spin you up worse, I promise. Liberal-progressives feel that its not only okay, but obligatory to use their mighty powers of hyperbole, spin and propaganda to get the "unwashed masses" to do whatever it is the liberal-progressives want them to do. And if someone goes against that, including a Senator, then that person will feel the wrath of the liberal-progressive mass media mud-slinging machine. They are the commissars of double-standards, its just how they are.

So what you are saying is the bombing in Boston should not affect the immigration bill, just as the Sandy Hook school shooting did not affect the assault weapons bill, high capacity magazine bill, universal background check/gun database bill.

All I'm saying is that it ticks me off when political hacks use these horrific events to push an agenda, but then do a complete 180 when the same tactic goes against their agenda.

If this had happened in my house once I explained why I was yelling, I would have spent the next hour listening to my wife yell at the TV. Then she would have yelled at me for not being angry enough.

Hahaha I don't need to watch CNN or msnbc to find out how liberals think... I just call my monsterinlaw... Or ask my wife about a subject...I've changed my wife's view of firearms over the last8 years but her political views are that of a liberal idiot. My fatherinlaw constantly watches foxnews CNN and msnbc and yells to the tv when the reporter or guest says something stupid. I just think that most news outlets have become slanted so far to the liberal idiot spectrum I just don't watch the news or read the paper because it spikes my blood pressure.

Be careful about complaining that Congress should never be reactive to events that occur randomly. Sometimes they overreact, or react tangentially, and sometimes a reaction in hind sight turns out to be the wrong reaction. Place the following in the correct columns: Pearl Harbor, Korea, Viet Nam, missile crisis, twin towers, Kuwait, embassy hostage crisis, national debt, social security, medicare, affordable care act, admission of Florida into the union.

Congress should react only to events or issues where they have a constitutionally defined authority to act.

:iagree:

Except in my mind, they should be responding, rather than reacting. Response generally requires some thought about the situation. I know that the concept of thoughtfully handling a situation may be difficult for many in Congress, but it is their job.....

You are a lucky man!

When the news comes on if I open my mouth to start to say something not specifically addressed to someone in the room I get "The Look". I am then told to either fast forward past that segment (we Tivo everything) or change the channel. :banghead:

I do not yell at the TV anymore, it is not its fault there is stoopid stuff on there...

We (wife and I) end up turning it off, then find something else more productive to do like re-arranging the furniture...

I do blame the TV. I don't want a liberal TV; I want one that is smart enough to block all of the liberal crap on the air.

Oh, wait, if that was the case I would be back to like when I was a kid and I would only have about 2 1/2 channels to watch.
