How does the state measure blade length?

Post by cubbyjg »

I just bought myself a benchmade adamas folder and it rocks. According to the website, the blade length is 3.82". How does texas measure blade length on a folding knife? Is it just the sharpened edge or is it the sharpened edge plus the metal that resides between the handle (tang) where the blade pivots? If I include the extra metal, then I am at 5" so it looks like I am still legal according to the law.

Gigag, are you referring to the end of the handle where the blade pivot point is located?

Brown County badly needs a new DA.

According to the website, the blade length is 3.82"
Measure the knife and see what the manufacture determines the blade length to be.
If the manufacture length stops at the handle you should be good to go!
Gun control means hitting the target!
