Syrian Rebels Behead Catholic Priest

Post by anygunanywhere »

What can I say?
A Syrian Catholic priest has been beheaded by jihadist fighters in Syria, it has been claimed.

The death of Franciscan Father Francois Murad has been confirmed by the official Vatican news agency.

Grainy footage purported to show the 49-year-old’s gruesome death has been posted on the internet.

Father Francois, was killed on 23 June in Gassanieh, in northern Syria.

It's OK though. Obama says we can trust them with brand new machine guns, light artillery, and MANPADS.

At least Father Murad was serving God when he died and was thus martyred for the faith. He would not want to return to cellpool earth, and we would not ask him to.

We as a country don't learn lessons very well sometimes.

Why exactly are we involved in this? With the way the Russians are escalating their involvement, where does this go from here?

They have to be our friends because if they were our enemies, then Obama, by giving them weapons, would be guilty of Treason. So it's all good.

I would like to say I am shocked. What I am is sickened. Why are we choosing sides at all? This is an internal conflict between two brutal parties. We need to MYOB.

Tolerance at its finest from the religion of peace.

What amazes me is the hypocrisy from those who would ask us not to judge the entire religion based on the actions of a few misguided individuals, but then turn right around and say we must infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of millions based on the actions of a few misguided individuals.

This has been determined to be a mix up between a Priest that was Jailed (or something) and someone else being be headed (two different incidents) according to Fox News today.

The person that was beheaded was not a Priest.

As is to be expected, there is a lot of confusion in what is going on in Syria. Father Murad was murdered, though now it appears he was shot when his monastery was attacked and ransacked. Even this event has several story lines, he was alone, he was defending nuns, he was defending Christian women who sought refuge when their homes were destroyed.
The 3 men shown bound and on their knees in the video, were indeed beheaded. The reason for this barbaric act is unknown, as are the identities of the murdered men.
There are reports of a "ethno-religious cleansing" occurring under cover of the civil strife. Both Pro and Anti Assad forces have been implicated.
