I wish there were more local Defensive Handgun corses that were affordable. Like a one or 2 day class for $30 -$50. :banghead:

Some of the best courses are 2 day for $500. I don't know how they are going to cover everything on the list in 2-3hrs.

My instructor has ROTH TACTICAL in San Antonio. I just have his business card & was thinking of calling him to get prices.

I took a course here - http://www.ezchl.com/Additional_Training.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hundred bucks for almost 4 hours, and it was only me and my girlfriend in the class. Well worth the money and he is a great instructor. Just email him for dates if interested.

Let me know what you find out. I'm in San Antonio too and am looking for a good course. I'd like to go to Rob Pincus' course but he nothing scheduled for this area. He said if we found a range that would host him he'd come. I'm sure there are all kinds of financial logisitics to work out so i'm thinking of contacting Bullet hole and Cedar Ridge range to see if they will set something up.
Armed not dangerous but potentially lethal.

I've taken Bruce's classes 3 times, and had him perfect my Sig 226 Navy.

The basic course is quite good. He may be more oriented towards competitive shooting than defense, but the skills are critical, and the same. He shoots incredibly accurately.

He has classes in various parts of the country, usually 3 day weekend, and cost is $400-500. Well worth it, IMnotalwayssoHO.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Unless you are an "operator" the NRA personal protection in the home and outside the home courses will get you up to speed. Those two courses build will instill confidence and teach you the knowledge,skills, and attitude to safely and effectively use a handgun for personal protection.

Go to http://www.nrainstructors.org/ to search for an instructor in your area. :tiphat:

But be aware that to take either of these, you must show that you have completed NRA Basic Pistol.

Or, as a prerequisite, demonstrate proficiency.

Oops, sorry....I forgot that it was at the instructor's discretion to allow demonstration of proficiency. :oops:
