Outed myself today, with cause.

Post by Dirthawking »

I was on my way to work today and stopped into a local fast food joint to pick up something to eat for myself and my wife. She was at work herself and I was going to drop her food off. Anyway, I am standing in line waiting to order when there was a sudden burst of yelling and glass doors being slammed open. I immediately turned to my right and reached for my firearm. Hand on my weapon when I realize it is just a couple of teens acting fools and scaring everybody in the lobby. I let go of my weapon and dropped my hand.

Looked up and realized one employee and another person in line realized I was reaching for my weapon. Not sure if they actually saw my gun, or just my action. Both smiled, nodded, and carried on. Glad it all was okay. Ordered my food and carried on. Stupid kids....

Very glad they took it well and you didn't get a MWAG call on you. As for the kids, many folks have no idea of the dangers or possible dangers around them and what kind of responses their actions might provoke.

i applaud your control. Depending how "fierce" it sounded to me, I may have grabbed leather instead of just have my hand on shirt.

I like the fact that you instinctively reached for your firearm while assessing the possible threat. I hope I would do the same in the same situation.

Hopefully after September, it'll be impossible to arrest based on that call.... Until then, it seems that some PDs don't look like they're going to walk away empty handed on MWG calls.

Dumb question, what's happening in September that would change that situation? All I've seen are the changes in renewal requirements.

Thanks!

SB 299 goes into effect, requiring that a gun must be in plain view for "failure to conceal".

I had a situation in a Wally restroom This guy was eyeing my watch (actually looking over the divider at me) No CHL at the time but I reached like I had a gun on my hip with a fast movement, Then asked if my watch was worth dying for, thats all it took he ran out the door. He was much bigger and a lot younger than me. ie.. one of those who preys on older people. :fire

You've either got a really fancy watch (I think my wife bought mine for $10) or were dealing with a very unambitious thief. You sure it was the watch he was looking at?
