I shamelessly promote her books whenever I can. Other than that, I know how long she researches her books (years).  Historical accuracy is important to her. She started reseaching The Raven's bride " when she was in her 20s. Her second book ""Promised Lands" is better. I have watched  her developing as a writer over the vears.
