What's up with Ohio?

Post by davefrmmrfy »

Forgive me if this is beating a dead buckeye, but I did a search and did not have anything jump out at me. What is the latest on Ohio, and more importantly, what do I need to do before crossing the line at Cinci this summer? Unload? Lock in box? Stow in trunk? Leave on seat? Throw in river ;-) ?

Grandma has some weapons I want to haul back and don't want to cross the local LEO's or troopers... . Also, I will be packing until I get through Kentucky and need to know how to handle "traveling" in Ohio.

Oh, and I went to the Buckey Firearms Assoc. page and generally got swamped by info.

Get yourself a non-resident Utah CFP and carry in Ohio.

The Federal traveling laws can cover you if you meet the requirements. Simplified version is locked, unaccessible and don't stop for any non-travel activities.

Ohio no longer requires that the firearm be in plain view in the vehicle. They're coming along with their CHL laws pretty well but it's slow at best.
