New Glock 19

My official CCW is now a New Glock 19-9MM I bought it today, now I need another $200+ to buy the accessories with!

I had no idea they had so much stuff one could add to the weapon.

The gun is the main part of a weapon system. This system includes accessories like you noticed and also includes your own training. Congrats on the Glock 19, it is a perfect weapon according to Glock's advertisement and in the eyes of many.

A Stramlight TLR-2 would burn thru that accessories budget right off the bat. And Every Glock 19 owner needs a couple of (Glock 18) 33-round mags.

Seems like it was http://www.botachtactical.com where I found 'em pretty cheap a year or three back ...

Congrats on a fine weapon purchase.

I suggest adding 2 spare mags, for 3 total, steel sights (warren tactical or ashley express with tritium front sight), and a flashlight. Make sure you also get a good fighting holster and some solid training.

On the night sights, I highly recommend the Tru Glo TFO sights. A tactical light would be cool. I just happen to have one for sale.

Ditto on the spare mags, I have a total of 6 for my G29. Grip plug is a good, cheap accessory. I also highly recommend the Ghost Ultimate trigger kit with the 6# trigger spring and firing pin spring. A good quality holster will be a wise investment, the options are endless.

$200??? What are you buying? A truglo night sight and a few mags would do just fine.

Simplicity is the thing with Glock. Any accessory to make it more complicated is unnecessary.

Congrats on the new pistol. I just bought a G35 myself, adding to a G19, 23 and 34 I already owned.

YMMV but I'd recommend at least a tritium front sight even if you keep the rear stock. The stock plastic sights endure an impressive amount of abuse but a good set of steel sights are a worthwhile improvement. I like the plain Trijicon or Meprolight tritium sights. They are rugged, easy to see, snag-free but still provide a good surface on which to rack the slide during single-handed stoppage reductions. Ashley, Heinie, Novak and other offer good options too.

If the grip-plug is for you, go for it. Personally, I have no use for them. The sky's the limit on other grip mods though. There are decal type panels and some work pretty well. Or you can go whole hog and get a custom grip reduction.

The only accessories I got are night sights and extra mags.

Then lots of ammo and range time.

Great pistol, btw. Mine's at about 11k rounds and still works perfectly.

Good suggestions. Glock factory will install night sights if you send them your slide. They have the rears in the right height increments to keep the gun shooting to POA. I have about 20 years on one pair of sights, and they're still fine.

The plug is unnecessary. Glock left the backstrap channel open to vent gases if you punch through a primer, and to drain water if you submerge the gun.

Keep it stock. It won't break as often. And you can't have too many mags.

I agree...I like my "lint" trap...It keeps me honest...

The only thing I have changed, and it took a long time for me to cave in and do this was to take out the stock slide release, and put in this nice "dimpled" release that works like a dream...Easy to install yourself, if you know the workings of your Glock...It was about a $17 part...$0 cost on the install...

Magazines??? I got a bucketfull of them around here somewhere...And amazingly, they all work...

I'd also keep them separated or marked if you have the "normal" capacity mags, to the 10 round "ninny" state magazines...Those come in handy when you are traveling through states that have not yet seen the error in their ways...

I have played with Glocks a good bit....I agree with everyone that sights and additional magazines are a great idea. Play with the stock grips first...you might like them!

I prefer Warren Tactical sights....they pick up fast. I have spent more on sights than I have on Glocks

I don't even want to discuss holsters (my wife reads this forum)

I would not spend the money on a plug, but I have heard a couple of people that I trust say it helps their reload process by providing less area to get hung up.

Congrats on a fine weapon.....enjoy it and practice often!

The stock sights can stand improvement, and I like having a 3.5# connector. (Be sure to use a Glock OEM connector if you go this route - some of the aftermarket ones may not be as reliable.)

Otherwise, spare magazines are about all a Glock needs.

According to a couple of Glock armorers I've spoken to, most people that have reliability problems with Glocks have put in aftermarket parts . . . (But then again, they were selling Glock parts themselves, so maybe they weren't being 100% objective.)

I don't tnhink there are any states where we can carry at that are 10 rnd restricted.
