First you are on a public right of way not a COE road so I wouldn't worry about their restrictions. There will be signage at any location that they are going to enforce the rules and regs.goose wrote:This may be a digression but I think it is related. My bug-home route (getting from work to home in the event of hurricane damage, a problem arises, etc) would take me through George Bush Park/Barker Cypress Reservoir/COE here in West Katy.
1) I assume Westheimer Parkway is somehow excluded from the COE restrictions? Otherwise, every time I drive through there while carrying I am subject to arrest/fines?
2) If my assumption about driving through is okay, what about walking next to the roadway if required (roads blocked due to damage/accidents, etc)? In a true bug-home situation I intend to have a backpack with water, poncho, etc but also my EDC and probably the Kel-Tec Sub2000.
This would also apply to the roads in the Addicks reservoirs for other folks.
Thoughts?

This is definitely something i can get behind, and one of the many reasons I have decided not to spend much time on Lake Grapevine or Lake Lewisville since moving here in October of last year.

Our church sponsors an RV outing at Hickory Creek every Fall. I don't do that either. Sad. Just sad.
