Adding the deerskin was just for my comfort because the Kydex against my skin was irritating to me. It gets sweaty just like any leather I rub it down with Neet's foot oil or saddle soap regularly.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

Thanks Venus and Jeremae,

I just ordered the left handed C-TAC that you recommended.

Thank you very much!

If anyone "Sweeps/Covers" themselves when drawing from this mode (MOB), then they are drawing incorrectly. Same goes for Shoulder Carry... and the same thing for weak hand draws from cross body.

Honestly, I don't know why people continue to propagate the idea that certain modes of carry require that you cover yourself when drawing the weapon. If you do.....it means one thing and one thing only: You simply don't know how to draw correctly. :???:

Sorry if this sounds like an admonishment  , its just that I see this posted over and over on forums......and it just isn't true IMO.

flintknapper,
No "admonishment" taken or needed.
MOB is one of my best options for casual clothing carry in a concealed manner when it is 100 degrees in the humid summers.

Let me offer another explanation of why I personally want this.
I've developed arthritis in my gun drawing right hand shoulder that makes "twisting my arm and wrist "REALLY painful"....but don't have the pain if I don't need to twist my arm and wrist upside down to draw.

Besides not enjoying that pain....I think it would no doubt slow down my draw to a point it would not be quick or effortless or natural.

THAT's my reason....I can't speak for others who "don't know how to draw correctly" for their reasons.

You do what is quick and effortless/natural for yourself, and let us do what is quick and effortless for us, OK?
BTW, I also have an outside the belt hip holster and an IWB hip holster.

I understand completely. ;-)

We are in the same boat actually. I have a rotator cuff issue that forces me to carry in a Shoulder Rig (last 10 years). I have learned all of the advantages and disadvantages, truths and myths that accompany this oft maligned mode of carry.

We all understand that no single manner of carry is "perfect" for all situations. All have their pros and cons. I'm sure you will make MOB/SOB work for you as well as it can.

Simply point the muzzle toward the ground as soon as you clear your holster, keep it vertical while tracing the outline of your body. When you break your centerline you can rotate the muzzle up and present your weapon as per usual from that point. I am sure you already knew this, but for those who didn't know (how not to cover yourself), that is how its done.

Be safe,

Flint.

flintknapper,
Yeah, the years and past abuses to my body have accumlated to the point that I need to modify certain actions in my life to avoid the rotator cuff pain by doing what doesn't hurt....the pain would be a definite bummer to natural quick responces when needed.

Actually though I'm right handed the IWB MOB rig is a Left handed model that keeps the grip pointing right and will be made to make the muzzle cant about 30 degrees left of vertical....making my pistols easier to draw "more horizontally" out and bring to bear on target more "directly and naturally" for my painfull shoulder. I have tried putting my hand in the small of my back and then raising my arm Straight up, and that never fails to hurt my shoulder pretty badly....so, it will be canted for a simple "wip around, nearly horizontal pull".

thanks
(my knees are already feeling pain also from from younger abuse too...Ha!)
Ha!....If I knew I was going to live this long...I would have taken it easier on my body when younger...Ha!
