Thumbs up to Red Robin in Garland
I was running some errands, and stopped at the Red Robin at Garland Ave for a quick bite to eat.
After eating, the waitress brought my check, and I pulled out my wallet to lay my check card in the little folio. Unbeknown to me, doing this, I committed the cardinal sin of CHL'ing. My cover garment, a long button-up shirt, Hawaiian style had hung up on the butt of my pistol.
Did the waitress, or for that matter, another patron see my unconcealed gun, call 911, bringing Garlands' finest upon me, guns drawn?
Nah.
The waitress came by to pick up my payment, giggled at me and said, "you're gun's showing!"
I sheepishly covered.
We had a brief discussion about handguns; she let me know whe was eagerly awaiting her 21st birthday so she could get her license. She already had her pistol, a Glock 19, picked out.
(Strange, that the world we live in, I feel the need to give a thumbs up to a place and to people who act the way EVERYONE should act...)

Many people I have a conversation with about guns seem to think they need a license just to get a gun.
A few have named everyone they know that has a CHL and then ask me if I have a CHL

There's an entire lifetime's worth of wisdom wrapped up in that comment. And it doesn't apply only to guns!nitrogen wrote:(Strange, that the world we live in, I feel the need to give a thumbs up to a place and to people who act the way EVERYONE should act...)

I am glad she was not afraid of you and let you know it was exposed.
Before I got my CHL when I would see a gun on some one in a store or out shopping I always assumed it was an off duty cop, now I assume its a CHL unless it a person doing open carry.
Now that I carry my sense of security has improved 100% from before I got my CHL.

If nitro wanted to be really nice and contribute to the goal, he would just have given her a Glock 19 for a tip.Jacob Staff wrote:Sounds like she got a big tip![]()
