Using my best google foo, it appears they have yet to catch this guy. They are still calling him a cop impersonator.

Yeah. Hard to believe this guy can drive around in or park his blacked out Crown Vic or similar vehicle at his house without someone raising a question abut the incident on I35. I think most people don't read, watch the news, or have a clue about what's going on in their communities.

Be safe out there ladies! Spread the word and catch this miscreant!

Only on TXCHLFORUM can we go from an article about a cop impersonator to bashing on real cops. :thumbs2
Seriously.

Back in the day when this forum started (before my LEO days) it wasn't like this.
Seems like that should concern you.
Seems like what should concern me is overly concerning to you.
Actually, I couldn't care less....we're on a trajectory with inevitable consequences and most of us have no power to stop or alter it. Those who do have the power either desire the outcome, don't understand the problem, or lack the will to act. I'm just along for the ride, so long as it lasts.

There are way too many old crown vics out there. Austin is full of them. It is hard to tell who is the police and who is not. For less then 100 bucks you can get a set of red/blues for the dash off the net.

I dealt with a guy in CA that had bought an old Border Patrol Bronco, white in color. He "played" a cop on the internet to get dates. He sorta of looked the part and he picked the gals up in the bronco, which had reds in the grill. Dude wasn't a cop, in fact he was a parolee :smash: Imagine the woman thinking they were hooking up with a man with a badge to later learn he was a looser? We dealt with his car and violated his parole.

Isn't that illegal if not a LEO?

Light control works about as well as gun control. People with intent to assault women by pretending to be cops probably don't worry about the legalities of putting lights in their cars. :nono:

We don't want to go down that road of neighbors turning in neighbors for lights no more than turning them in for guns. It's amazing the lengths predators will go to, to be predators. Who thinks like this? These calculating cretins need to be gone from the planet. I hope he gets caught soon before he destroys another life.

Good sketch. Hopefully they have DNA. Not having a firearm could be an indication that he is a security guard as they drive cars very similar to LEO vehicles. I'm sure the investigators are looking into that and all areas of wannabes.

Do we keep teaching our children that the "Men in Blue" are the good guys and can be trusted? Nope. Never. Not if you want to teach them life lessons that will keep them safe. Those days of blind trust towards the Men In Blue, if not already completely gone, are slipping away day by day, one incident at a time.

When the Citizens of Society are held to a higher standard and stricter punishment than those in Government serving them, who is really serving who?

I'm sure glad I don't live in the city.
I had to read this a few times before I responded. First, I don't trust anyone I don't know, period. If you pay attention to the news, you can't trust politicians, preachers, coaches, teachers... the list goes on.
I think the days of blind trust in relation to anyone solely based on their profession were gone a long time ago. I really don't see a reason to suggest that this applies more or less to Men in Blue than it does to any other profession.
:iagree: Teaching children to distrust somebody because they wear a uniform or carry a badge is almost as foolish as teaching them to trust a stranger just they wear a uniform or carry a badge.

I trust LEO's mostly because I know a bunch of them, have worked with them on and off for 2 decades, and I have nothing to fear from them. Most of them are stellar guys. But as a young lady, if you "draw the wrong card" your life is altered forever. It's best not to take a chance. Ever.

That's just my opinion and the ladies in my life know exactly how to respond if pulled over by a man. The only "men" that can pull them over just happens to be one with flashing lights on his car. LEO, Fake LEO, or serial rapist in either category, however rare it may be. Roll the dice and jump in the handcuffs...or not.
