Resident shoots wandering elderly man outside home late at night. Another case the antis can use against SD. I would suggest that any and all classes (CHL, misc training) emphasize that you should avoid opening up a locked door to confront the potential threat. If possible.

Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.
