Does WA recognize TX CHLs? I know we recognize their's but I wanted to make sure before I made my trip up there later this month, and packed heat!

No.

If you have time before you go there, get a Utah non-resident permit. There are several Utah-approved instructors in Texas that will help get you one. You can do everything by mail.

With a Utah permit you can carry in Washington.

WA nope. I got back from WA last month on a family vacation and picked up a CHL from there for the heck of it :)

I was under the impression that Washington did not give permits to out of state (or even out of county) residents. http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/NonR ... ermits.pdf

Washington State does give nonres permits, I got one. Go to Washington State's page and you will see. I went to a small town so I did not have to wait in a long line (which I have heard there is if you try downtown Seattle).

I got one, my wife did, my brother and his wife.....

Cool. I got the Utah license so I'm covered now, but it is nice to know I can go direct if needed.

Will a Washington State CHL get you into Oregon, or will Oregon only recognize resident Washington CHLs?

Also looks like Oregon has less friends than Washington.
