AR pistol register?

Post by corbmonster »

I was considering building an AR pistol in the future. And wanted to know if I would need to register it? I know Texas does not require firearm registration, but maybe ATF?

No. It is no different than any other pistol. Just don't put a stock on it if the barrel is less than 16".

Ya, from a little searching I learned you have to use a buffer tube that can't accept a stock. And you can't have vertical fore grips. I was just curious of registration / stamps / applications.

I wonder if you could mold some sort of a grip in the magazine so that you have a forward grip that isn't a grip...just a magazine that is grippy!?!?

There are various angled grips that are legal on a pistol. And Mako makes a grip that goes around your magwell that is supposed to be legal also ;)

You can't forget Sig's new "arm brace" that goes on the buffer tube.
