DPS Updates

Post by Cshuff21 »

Does anyone know if the DPS updates the website throughout the day or just once a day. I want to quit wasting my time checking every couple of hours if it is just once a day.

I think there's days they don't update at all. You won't see an update until they actually start processing your stuff...I'm still waiting for my first update too and I mailed all my stuff on October 17th.

I submitted my renewal on Nov 13th. The website said "...waiting on required information." I called several times but never got past the computer cut-off. Finally, on Dec 13th I got through to a human being (and that required 10 minutes on hold). The lady was nice and respectful. She informed me that I could not trust the website until they actually began processing the renewal. She confirmed they had all of the required information and my renewal should be processed in January or February.

Since my license expires in May, I was relieved and happy to wait.
Hope that helps you.

Just an update.

I received my renewal license today (Jan 18). That's a little more than 60 days, but Nov 13 through Jan 18 has three major holidays in between. My observation is to start your renewal process online 6 months before the expiration date. TX DPS was kind enough to send me a renewal reminder in early November.

Hope the renewal process works well for everyone.

I agree about the starting early. I did mine pretty early and from start of app to plastic in hand was 3 weeks. Of course I beat the rush.
