Need info on wheel gun

Post by ghentry »

I am looking at adding a wheel gun to my collection and will be looking for a used GP100 SS 4" or 6". Since I don't have any experience with what to look for when shopping for a used one, any tips/pointers on what to look for would be appreciated.

I haven't owned a wheelgun in years...

And for what its worth, the first thing I kinda recall to take look at is the cylinder gap...See how much "play" is in the cylinder in all aspects of operation...

I believe for the most part they'll work just fine for you...

Should be a fun project for you to find one...

Looks like it might be a bit big for a BUG though...

There is a sticky'd thread on TheFiringLine.com forum that's about as detailed as it gets.

Remember, EMPTY GUN. quadruple check it before you start checking it out.

Good luck!
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
