Hey guys, I've been looking through the FAQs and haven't found some answers I've been looking for, maybe you guys can help. I appreciate all the help so far.
Question 1: does Texas wave CHL class room and proficiency course for Active Duty Military?
I am just curios because I know other states like Florida do. I am stationed in FL, but I am coming home on earned leave, I figured I might as well get my CHL while I'm there, and I'm a Texan, I'd rather represent my state through Texas CHL vs. Florida:)
Question 2: I will still need to submit fingerprints with my package, even though I have an Active Duty Application, and the Feds have my finger prints already?
Thank you so much for all your help.

You still must take the class. If you can present a scorecard or proof of range qualification with a handgun from the military it can be used by to exempt you from the range qualification by your instructor.Natedz wrote:Hey guys, I've been looking through the FAQs and haven't found some answers I've been looking for, maybe you guys can help. Your fingerprints will have to be taken electronically at an approved location. Does not matter how many sets you have already on file with anyone.

Re: Check off list
Okay, when can I schedule the course? I'm only home for 9 days at the end of February, and yes I have a Marksman Competency, and will not need to attend a range. I can produce that in my LES
I will schedule finger printing right now.
I will schedule finger printing right now.
Re: Check off list
When you apply online you can set up your fingerprint appointment at a locaiton close to you for a date you will be home. You will also have to find a course to attend during that 9 days you are home as all training must be taken in Texas.Natedz wrote:Okay, when can I schedule the course? I found a course, and I am setup there... I am having trouble finding the scheduling of my prints, I saw it once, and now I can't find it again.
