I'm sure this has been discussed before but I didn't find something specific to what I'm asking in this post.
I need to update my residence for my CHL and DL. I have yet to upate my DL and I just took care of my CHL at https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/chl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but i saw in another thread that I should complete the following form : http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/internetfo ... CHL-70.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
When I went through the first link I had to pay a couple of fees, one for the DPS and one for processing. My question is now that my application is in progress, is it necessary for me to fill out the paper form and pay them the standard $25 fee? Also, will doing the CHL before DL affect my application process?

Re: Change of address
The online site is all that is needed. The CHL-70 is the old paper way of doing it.TheCytochromeC wrote:I'm sure this has been discussed before but I didn't find something specific to what I'm asking in this post.

You need to get your DL updated as well. Both must be done in 30 days. DL really should be first, but if you get it changed quickly they should see it in the works when they start your CHL app and it will match.

Ah good news! Thank you very much. I did the DL immediately after the CHL so I guess it'll go through without trouble.Keith B wrote:The online site is all that is needed. Re: Change of address
I just changed my CHL address and still need to do my DL but I have to go to DPS because my DL is actually expired.
I got my new CHL within a week of submitting my change of address online.
