My first Gun

Post by p0werlifter »

The time finally came to get a handgun as the fear my fiance once had has totally diminished thanks to longtooth!

With his help I chose to get a Rock Island 1911. As a left handed shooter the ambi thumb safety is super important to me. I also picked up a gun for my fiance *wedding gift* and she ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!!!!!!

while she will never want a CHL she did admit to me that she feels so much safer knowing that she has a gun in the house sized to her hand and knows how to use it if necessary when I go on business trips.

Nice choice. The first gun I ever bought for myself was a 1911 too. Congratulations on your purchase!

Don't be so sure about her not wanting a CHL. When I met my wife, she believed that only cops and bad guys have guns. Now she has her CHL and carries an M&P Shield everyday and has encouraged her sister to get a CHL as well. Your lady may surprise you!

Congratulations!!!

Never say never. My wife used to say she never wanted a gun in the house, but now I have 1, 2, 3, ... and she's even bought me two as presents. Give it time and or wait until you have a child and she just might look at the outside world a little differently.

Nice choice. I have 3 Rocks, 2 GI Models and a Compact tactical. All are great and all are more reliable than my Series 70 Colt
