Benelli Nova shotgun sight question.
Benelli Nova shotgun sight question.
I just recently purchased a Benelli Nova and a bit curious about how I would go about getting different sights on it. No, it's not the super nova. Nor does it have tactical sights. I don't know who is familiar with this shotgun to give some feedback.
According to Benelli, this model is called the 'open sight'. Basically it has like handgun sights on it. I'll post some pictures when I get home.
again, this is NOT the super nova nor the Nova with tactical sights. It's the 'open sights' model.
Also, whomever owns this, what is your feedback on this model?
Thanks in advance, fellas.

I found this. Someone else has asked the same question. Is this like yours?

Wow, thanks a lot C-Dub!
I asked everywhere and everyone thought I was speaking about the tactical version or the supernova. I'll see if it screws on or the sort.

Re: Benelli Nova shotgun sight question.
Keep in mind the open sights that benelli uses are adjustable - you will be making yours fixed thus changing your POI. And if your benelli is like most of the Italian made shotguns the view of the beads and rib are different than the made for US types (e.g. Stacking beads).

Just so there isn't confusion. Here are some pictures below.

I'm not sure about the 'adjustable' sights you were talking about, they look just like standard iron sights with out the option to adjust. Or I could be mistaken. I'm a bit new at this shotgun.couzin wrote:Keep in mind the open sights that benelli uses are adjustable - you will be making yours fixed thus changing your POI. I added some photos as well.

Sorry - I thought your sights were the R-1 types. These obviously are not. They look like they are integral with the barrel (welded on?). Might be easier to just buy a different barrel, or better still, another shotgun!

I think you might have solved my problem.

There's something in there I'm confused about. Why do you need to provide your girlfriend any reason for you getting anything?68Charger wrote:couzin wrote:Sorry - I thought your sights were the R-1 types. These obviously are not. I might give this one to my future brother in law now that I think about it. They're getting married soon and that would be a great present! That's a even better excuse to tell my girlfriend about me getting another one.

Re: Benelli Nova shotgun sight question.
I have been running a Nova for years. 3 gun, Sporting Clays, Skeet, and more. I use this thing for everything and it has never failed me. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
The rear 'open' sight fell off years ago and i never noticed until i had to do some stuff with slugs. Called up Benelli and they sent me a new set. Its adjustable for windage, but its a shotgun so its not like i will be trying to shoot the wings off flies with it.
So what are you wanting to do? Replace the sights? There is a "ghost ring" set for the nova, but you might need a new barrel for it.
Just put a tube extension and a sling on it and it will solve all your problems.
