Republican Primary Results on Expanding CHL Carry

Post by TacShot »

Prop 2 "Expanding locations where CHL holder may legally carry" passed. However the 13.07% vote against the proposition was the highest negative vote among the six propositions. This startled me, and may be a wake up call telling us there are Republicans that are anti-gun and we have to work harder to convince some of our fellow Texans the value of the Second Amendment.
"There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide." The Monument Builders, Ayn Rand (1962)

The problem is there are republican's who are for 'reasonable' restrictions. I know numerous people who consider themselves as conservatives that believe the government has the right to restrict 2A. One friend is an avid hunter and outdoorsman but believes no one needs an AR-15. :banghead:

Well, no one needs an AR-15. What one wants on the other hand... :thumbs2:

Or perhaps they had no idea what they were voting on.

I have a similar hunter outdoorsman friend that thinks the same way about handguns.

Those people are called fudds. They are the people who think the 2A is about hunting, not keeping tyranny in check or for self defense. As long as they can get their 30-30 and a box of shells every couple of years they could care less about what happens.

:iagree: One of the North Texas "republican" candidates was funded by Democrats and did his best to recruit Democrats to vote for him in the Republican primary. It didn't help him but those Democratic voters could have diluted the Republican proposition results.

True
I know several people from work that voted in the Republican primary because there were a large number of elections with no Democrats. I try and discourage it but what can you do..........

This did happen around the State. Democrats where encouraged to cross over and vote in the Republican Primary in an attempt to sway certain elections. There's no way to know how many people did so.

Now that those propositions passed, what now? Will they be on a ballot to be made law? Example to repeal Obamacare, Is it that gona be on every state primary ballot? The change to OC, well since that is local to TX, will it now since passed, be on November ballot? I just don't know enough to know the next steps. I have Googled and can't find an answer.

Actually, I do need an AR - it's fer me mental health doncha know?

In fact, two...

One's all fancy and the other is plain, well, not entirely...B-5 Slim keymod handguard, IWC keymod QD sling point, upcoming a Geissele G2S trigger or an ALG Act, haven't decided and maybe a Raptor charging handle and new pistol grip.

I love my Barbies, I mean AR's...
