I have seen a 30.06 sign in my county...

Post by G.A. Heath »

I will not post too many details however TDS communications, DBA Baja Broadband, in Gaines and other Texas Counties has a 30.06 sign posted. I will not post about the validity or exact location of the sign since I am attempting to debate them on facebook and have the sign removed. You can see the thread I started on their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TDSTelecommuni ... comments=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Please do not post specifics about TPC 30.06 nor ask specifics about the sign. If the sign is not valid I do not want to tip them off. Unfortunately for where I live they are the only viable broadband solution at this time.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

If the sign is not 30.06 then why even mention it? :headscratch

Good luck. Doesn't look as if they are too worried about it judging by their reply to you on FB.

The sign is a 30.06 sign, however it may or may not be compliant and in case they find this thread I do not want to discuss that aspect of it. They don't seem too concerned about it, but perhaps a little logic will work to change their mind (They do read and typically respond to everything on their page). Currently I am looking to find a low latency 30/3mbit broadband connection in Seagraves that that doesn't cost me a small fortune. When that happens I will start sending them receipts for my new service to show what they are loosing.

If it is not compliant it is not a 30.06 sign. And if you are going to be cryptic here then I don't see the point of even starting a thread.

But that's just me.

I will come out and say it, the sign is not compliant I was trying to avoid that because they might find this thread, discover that, and then fix it. However some times wink wink nudge nudge hints can not be interpreted.

The problem with non-compliant 30.06 signs is that they do drive away CHL holders who may have had a bad teacher or may have never seen a live sign and thought I doubt it's legit but I will obey it. Additionally should a license holder ignore an invalid sign and then get discovered they face a potential legal fight depending on LE and prosecution deciding to try and make an example of, or case law with, them. They also demonstrate, in most cases, an effort to ban one of the most law abiding segments of our population simply because they obey the law. One additional reason (and the most important in my opinion) is I want this sign gone is because it might give other people ideas about posting one of their own, and maybe theirs will be compliant.

Boycott places that post 3006 signs as much as possible and let them know why they are being boycotted
I dumped Time Warner Cable for 3006 signs
I won't buy from Sprouts
I won't take my grandkids to Chucky Cheese

One does not have to convince the business that the sign is non-compliant, one only has to convince the arresting officer/s and resultant judge. Once the court is convinced of its error, DPS may let you have your CH license back.

I walk by a non-compliant 30.06 sign 3-4 times a week at the local ETMC Olympic Center. I have better things to do than argue with the receptionist about their bogus sign. Their intent is clear. BTW, my PT has her CHL.

As I said above in another post I am going to find an option that fills my needs, unfortunately there isn't one at this time. Another aspect of addressing this on facebook is that while I probably won't convince them, there are others that will read it and may consider our side that have never done so before. The timing of the second post to happen on Friday and sit over the weekend is 100% intentional, should they decide to delete it, it will have the most exposure time possible.

I never said anything about convincing them their sign is non compliant, in fact I don't want them to know that it is. What I want is for the thing to be gone. This is the third such sign to pop up in my county that I am aware of, the others are gone this one needs to join them.

Thanks, I keep threatening to start a Jeep thread in the OT forum, maybe tonight when I am not on my phone.
