The 8 Shot Revolver
I just traded for this S&W 327, 8 Shots (.357/.38+P) with a 2" barrel. It will make a great companion for my S&W 340PD I carry in my pocket. Highvelocity and I are going to take it out for a range test next week.

Eight rounds of .357? Dang. Didn't know y'all had problems with rabid dump trucks and rogue Chevy small-blocks out that way...
I'd warn you about the recoil from that lightweight frame, but if you carry a 340, you're already quite aware of it.
Nice carry piece, and quite effective. My father has the 327's older brother, a 3" 27-2, given to him by a friend. They're potent snubbies, and sweet shooters.

I can shoot the .38 +P all day in the 340PD, but only about 20 rounds of .357 is enough for me. I will shoot the 38's first then the .357 just in case it ends my day. I can't say what HV will do, but I will let you know.longtooth wrote:Good & I want to see the bruise on your hand too.carlson1 wrote:I will take a photo of Highvelocity's target

Can I provide some rounds for HV to shoot? Please? Loaded with baby powder......very little recoil
Let's just say they have a little spirit...I know HV to appreciate such things.
They were once described to me by a dear friend that first gave me the load:
"Son, it will feel like someone is beating you on the wrist with an axe handle....I think you will like it!" LOL.

Regarding the (12 ounce) 340 and full-blown .357 loads, the best analogy I ever heard was "Do you remember what it was like to hit a baseball and break a wood bat in real cold weather?"
I know not what that little 8-holer weighs, but sumthin tells me that you may be in the market shortly for some overmolded rubber grips.

To me, a 2" N-frame just looks odd . . . considering the size of the revolver itself, making a snubbie out of it isn't my cup of tea.
I've got a 340SC . . . I put on a set of Crimson Trace lasergrips that "rubberize" the backstrap. Now shooting a cylinder full or two of .357s isn't painful, merely unpleasant.. . . you may be in the market shortly for some overmolded rubber grips.
