Houston had a sudden and extremely large fire today near my work.
A large unfinished multistory wooden apartment complex caught on fire and burned to the ground.
I was in transit through the area and the police did a great job of keeping people out of the way of firefighters.
The firefighters rescued a worker from the third floor. Near as I can tell almost every fire truck in the city was there. The fire is the largest I have ever seen.
I guess this is something they plan for as they all seemed to have it worked out what to do.
I am hearing there was no loss of life.
Great job by Houston Firefighters and Police today in Housto

My wife and I saw the smoke from the fire driving home 610 from San Felipe to Pasadena. It reminded me of major fires I've seen in the refinery I worked for. Five alarm is a bad scene for sure. Glad no one was injured.

The TV news reports showed something that would probably fit the definition of Armageddon -that was one heck of an extensive fire!

Glad they got everyone offsite. Large wooden structures make big camp fires.
