Dang Andy, you're in the Big Times" now..!!!
They are nice with the nose down push through design, you can trick that puppy out with all sorts of add-ons..!!!
Like auto bullet feeder, counter,(heat you got) and air pressure lube feed....!!!!

The bullets will be flying around your neck of the woods now.......

CooL.... :thumbs2:

Today it wasn't very hot, I connected my lyman lube heater to my Rcbs lube sizer and let it set for about 45mins, it got up to 120 deg's and the lube was just right, It flowed perfectly, not melted just right.
Lubed a bunch of 148 gn WC 357 bullets, no gaps in lube and all was smooth...................

If you havn't seen it, look at the youtube video about the tricked out Star's there...Very nice.

You Da Man....

Is it homesick yet?

Just kidding Andy, glad it went to a good home. And it was a pleasure to make your aquaintence.

And the pleasure was mine - you're an interesting man to know, salty :cheers2:

Don - not sure I'm going to go hog-wild with any upgrades as of yet, but the possibilities are intriguing. Glad you got your setup all tuned, too :cheers2:

Sure I understand, I wouldn't either...but you are correct...The Possibilities are there waiting on you.
That lube sizer is the one every caster would love to have. Yall take care of each other. :cheers2:

Don

ps..today i was lubing/sizing more of my cast bullets, and was thinking of that sizer....it would be so much easier and faster to have a push through one.! :thumbs2:
You know how it is......

Cool, I like the pneumatic drive idea myself...Look at this one.

I think the cylinder could be mounted behind the sizer to keep it out of the way in front??

For the heck of it I looked at several vids on YouTube just now...People have come up with some cool setups.
Did you see the older guys that had a motor and gear box and used light switches for control?????
Gear drive motors or gear boxes are expensive unless you have connections.

Have fun...

Btw, if you are sizing your bullets down more than a few tenths, and the bullet doesn't want to move, flopping your man card down on the table and applying liberal use of force will quickly bend that lever arm.

You don't need to ask me how I know. :banghead: :tiphat:

AndyC wrote:I've actually ordered a roller-handle from lathesmith ($28 shipped) - never used one of those and everyone says it's the bee's knees, so I figured what the heck, let's try it.

I also made some Ben's Red last night - what a stench :(

Cool, a roller handle would be nice.
So, brewing a little home brew lube hu?

I just got through experimenting on some more lube recipes myself. Settled on my 11th batch I tried.
I need to run it through my guns and see how it works now.
It was interesting trying to get it the right consistency, not too tacky or too hard and will work in my rcbs lube sizer with and without heat. It's slightly harder than the regular lubes like RCBS and Lymans etc...
Plus I wanted to use inexpensive and readily available supplies.
I think I have done it, I just need to test it being applied and shot first.

Plus I made an add-on to an old RCBS Jr. press to push lube sticks out of the pvc tubes and put a hole in them at the same time. ( I mostly heat and pour lube into the lube/sizer ) But, want sticks too .....some will be for bartering

Have fun...

I'd be interested to hear about your lube experiments - this Ben's Red stuff really doesn't smell good at all :(
Ok....Basically it's Bee's Wax, Dexron III, Lee Alox, red crayon, and paraffin to stiffen it some.
BUT, I have not tested it in my guns yet. Should work fine...There are many references about this formula at the Castbullets forum. And a bunch of variants of it.

I'm working on the "Lube Pusher-outter " so I don't have to push it out of the PVC by hand.... :banghead:
I about have it nailed down. just working on a few details.

latesmith does good work.

He can also custom make dies for the Star in oddball sizes. Guess he can make custom nose punches also.
