I attended or tried to attend the regular Pasadena City Council Meeting that has been held every Tuesday 1PM for as long as I can remember. But...... when I arrived it was apparent no meeting was being held. Finally found a custodian who directed me to the secretary. Meetings are now 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 6PM. I never saw any notice, not to say it wasn't made, but wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't. The Mayor had a Council Member escorted out by guards during a meeting for taking more than two minutes during her comments. This city doesn't even know what street the police station is on. The entrance is on Davis, but it's listed as being on being on Jeff Ginn. Jeff Ginn was a police officer killed in the line of duty and certainly deserves the honor, but only the rear of the building, jail and entrance to the vehicle area is on Jeff Ginn.
The red sign "No Weapons" is still posted at the Council Chambers entrance.

Re: Gun in City Council Meeting?
I attended the Pasadena City Council meeting this evening. As I approached Council Chambers I only saw the permanently posted red signs "No weapons". No 30.06 at the City Hall entrance nor Chambers. I was a few minutes late trying to find the entrance (found out there's only one on the rear of City Hall for the meeting days.) Two police officers inside acknowledged my presence and opened the door and invited me in. I decided to stay for the meeting. Citizen comments were taking place, I missed about 15 minutes, but one of the comments was about the Mayor having a gun. The other fellow addressed council in Spanish. No translator was available, but a member said he was thanking them for schools. I was thinking wrong group to be talking to, but I get it.
After the meeting was over I approached the two officers and asked them why the meeting wasn't posted w/ a 30.06 sign per PC. One of them (big guy) thought I was talking about a rifle
. As I explained the other officer (little guy) jumped in and reiterated I was talking about the Penal Code, but it was apparent big guy had no clue what 30.06 and government building exception was. Little guy and I had a short discussion about the incident and I told him it was a topic of discussion on several gun forums. He rolled his eyes saying "I can imagine". I mentioned that w/o 30.06 a CHL could ignorantly carry and since there's no sign, and no LEO saw the Mayor's gun, he's not prohibited to carry w/ a CHL.
Of course nobody knows if the mayor has a CHL or not. Little guy then told me there are exempted people, such as himself when off duty; also judges, prosecutors, magistrates and district attorneys. I didn't linger after that and just told him "Stay Safe Out There".
