Renewal Issue

Post by anygunanywhere »

I filed my renewal in what I thought would be sufficient time. What with all the arrangements and the like preparing for retirement I just did not do it as early as I could have.

I filed my DD214 with my paperwork to get the veteran discount. The CHL office said it did not state my discharge status. :rules:

They sent me the notice and I refiled the exact same copy, and finally Monday spoke with the office and straightened everything out.

My CHL expires tomorrow and I do not have my new plastic.

**Sigh**.

I suppose I can still carry in my vehicle under MPA.

It really annoys me having to chase this DD214 issue. I am certain mine is not the only one they have ever seen.

That's one reason I got my Arizona CWP, even though Arizona doesn't require one anymore. You never know when I may be driving through a school zone in AZ...

Now the problem is that I "physically" lost all my permits at the same time. My Texas CHL came back in a week after online app for replacement...Oh and it now says "Veteran" at the top, which is a bit embarrassing since the closest I came to combat was dodging the crack dealers in Norfolk on my way home from the shipyard where my ship was being overhauled.
4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"

I have a Utah CFP just in case there is a lapse for some reason with my Texas CHL. If I ever loose my wallet with my CHL I can still carry until I get my replacement.

I used to have multiple licenses but let them all lapse.

Did you file online, or mail the DD214?
The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.
