Happening now - man on roof with rifle Los Angeles

Post by Texsquatch »

HLN news channel showing live coverage of man on roof of shed/garage with assault rifle. He apparenty was fleeing after a theft charge and car chase. Currently standing on roof with the rifle in hand while news chopper films. Cannot see any authorities in the picture, but ground covered by trees and such, so hard to tell.

"Assault Rifle" is now considered a dreary gaucherie by pro-gun folk.

Yes, apparently even we subscribe to a bit of our own PC-speak.

Now he's on the ground hiding or trying to get into one of the homes. Still no police in the picture. Lots of cars in the driveways, hopefully if anyone is home, they're able to protect themselves.

Please do not borrow the anti-gunner's language, and fall for calling it that.

More useful to call it a "modern sporting rifle".

Or how about a semi-automatic rifle. Descriptive and not sensationalist.

Fire stick?

Powder burner?

Assault rifle works too.

Yes, and let's all please never ever say clip when we mean magazine, because that
makes John Moses Browning spin in his grave.

Actually, I'll use whatever wording I prefer.

You of the PC class need to remember the first amendment.

Now, get off my lawn or should I say closely trimmed San Augustine grass?

SQLGeek,

Nope, just garden variety semi-autos, though high quality as in Colt...

One's bedazzled with optics and other doodads.

The other is my KISS model, no optics, but I swapped out the miserable trigger for a Geissele G2S trigger, a B5 Keymod very slim rail, a Vtac 2 point sling with QD attachments.

mojo84,

Hit or miss my humor is...

Without going into detail about why, I have cabin fever and I'm certain it shows. Thus my normal silliness is even more so.
