My new toy.........

Post by Sly Dog »

I had looked for months for a S&W 342PD without the internal lock. I had given up the idea after many months of no luck. Then this week a man contacted me from another state talking guns and mentioned he had one. After a little bit of haggling, I finally got her bought and it was delivered today. Just had to show it off a little.

Very nice! I'm a revolver fan also. Not too many other people seem to be these days. At least not on this board. It's 1911 or nothing! Not that I have a problem with 1911's...

There are several revolver fans on this site. Some of us even own both 1911's and revolvers.

Carl - I will remember you.

Tin Bender - It is a Smith & Wesson model #342PD. It weights 10.6 ounces. I "think" this model was introduced in 2000 without the internal lock, and then in 2001 they started adding the internal lock. I think they were only made two years due to the fact about that time they came out with the 340PD (357), and stopped production of the 342PD (38 only). Now to be truthful I don't know allot about the S&W revolvers, but got the above information from the S&W forum.....so I can't verify how true it is, but my bet is Carl would know. My favorite carry gun is a 340PD due to the fact I pocket carry 90% of the time. The 340PD weighs 11.5 ounces unloaded on a scale. They are perfect for pocket carry, but they do kick like a mule.

Thanks for the compliments......

You know if I ever need to get one, these poppers really make the choice very easy...

I always seem to pause at the tables that have these displayed...

Not too schabby there Mr. Sly! ;-)

I as well am a bit of a fan of the ol' wheel gun.
I really like these little S&W's.
have a Taurus 85 series, and dig it.
other than the obvious stuff, I like the color scheme on that thing.
