Renewal status

Post by baldeagle »

When I applied for my CHL I could check the status of the application online. When I try to do that for my renewal, there's no status at all. Did they change it so you can no longer see status of a renewal application?

I found the same thing. I called and was told that it was done and mailed and I should receive it within a week.
Mailed snail mail 08/12, check cleared 8/21, plastic mailed 8/28.
I did snail mail because my DD214 is very dim and doesn't scan well.

From my understanding, they are in the process of redoing the status page. If you check it and it shows the ability to do a change of address, etc.. that means yours is on the way. Mine did that with a change of address a couple of weeks ago. It only took 5 days for mine to show up in the mailbox and that was with a weekend in between. Question: do you have to send in ANOTHER copy of your DD214 on a renewal? They automatically put "veteran" on my new one as was not on original. If they already know your a veteran, why another copy for renewal? :headscratch

Per this post http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php? ... 65#p930265" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; the online status page is down for the forseeable future.

Don't know. I hadn't used "veteran" status before because "senior" was same cost and no forms needed. Veteran is now $10 less than Senior and "Veteran" status on the license. BTW, Plastic in the mailbox today.

Ok...I see now why you sent yours in now. I guess I will find out in a couple years when I renew. BTW, congrats on your new one. :thumbs2:

I sent them another copy of my DD-214 just to be on the safe side. You never know when things will get lost in a large bureaucracy.
