First, I can't imagine either party showing up without being armed. If the seller wasn't armed then shame on them.

Second, if you took your eyes off the buyer...once again shame on the seller.

If I were in the seller's position there is no way enough time would elapse for them to pull out and chamber a live round before I'd be drawn.

Every gun I've purchased has included a field strip looking for cracks and dry firing to feel the trigger. Hard to do when locked per your description.

Not even a full disarm if he just dropped one round in; he's only got one shot and then it's just a really short stick again. Get it pointed away from you, (preferably down for obvious reasons, but do what you can) and pull hard. Pretty safe bet it's going to go off and then you're back to having the advantage because at the very least you've short circuited his plan and disabled his best weapon, and at best you've done that with your off hand while your strong hand is getting your gun out of its holster and into his nostril.

I have never had a FTF by myself unless I already knew the seller and I can still count with three fingers how many times that has been.
