Massey, also armed, was located nearby. He was later charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
If he is indeed a convicted felon, then he shouldn't have had 1000's of rounds for that gun either........or am I being nutty here?

Under 18 USC 922, a convicted felon possessing ammo is the same degree of illegality as possessing a firearm.

When you consider that each cartridge is an additional count, in some ways possessing ammo is worse than possessing only the firearm

"Kevin Massey's arrest was sparked by an Aug. 29 incident in which a Border Patrol agent pursuing a group of immigrants near the Texas-Mexico border fired several shots at a man armed with a rifle."

Who wasn't injured.

Great marksmanship.

I wonder if the "militia" knew this person they sent down to the border was a convicted felon. I wonder how many others are. :nono:
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Well, I'd imagine these milita's aren't like the Air Force, who has a Personnel Officer to make sure that you have all the qualifications needed for a deployment. :anamatedbanana
