Under 18 USC 922, a convicted felon possessing ammo is the same degree of illegality as possessing a firearm.

When you consider that each cartridge is an additional count, in some ways possessing ammo is worse than possessing only the firearm

Well, I'd imagine these milita's aren't like the Air Force, who has a Personnel Officer to make sure that you have all the qualifications needed for a deployment.
