A Texas woman was sentenced to 18 months in prison for buying rifles with her alleged bingo winnings

Yeah, I'm not sure why it's being reported as such. Story/arrest really has nothing to do with bingo winnings.

I hope they had more evidence than that if they're slapping her with trafficking or straw purchase charges.

She apparently used a false address on some or all of the forms so that alone would be an excuse for a charge. Not being able to explain where the guns are or went would be another one. Hard to argue you were not trafficing if you no longer have a brand new gun and can't say who you sold it to. One maybe, but five?

I have little sympathy I guess. In another time with different laws, no one would care.
