Carrying Speer Gold dot but it's been hard to find. I usually have no problem finding PXD1, without even looking for it.

As for the 'to penetrate cover' argument, you needn't penetrate cover in our situations. If he is hunkered down behind something, he's neutralized for the moment. Stay defensive y'all. Tactical odds are in your favor to the tune of 3:1 when in a defensive posture. If he'd hiding behind cover, he's not returning fire in any sort of effective manner. He peeks out, take your shot.

Anybody stack penetrator/expander in a magazine to cover a variety of scenarios?

I've met some that had, but I suggested them against it. When I carry a full assortment, I usually have one displaced mag of some ball ammunition incase I get in a shootout with somebody behind cover I could punch through. I would never use it any other time, last thing I want to do is punch through two steel doors and put one in a kid. (Somebody shot a .45 at a near by business, and it went through a heavy steel door, a second door, and stopped in the wall.)

Hey Ya'll, I wanted to do my own poll today, to see where everybody is at on their preferred ammunition for concealed carry. I have a lot of people who come to me and ask for my opinion on the difference between choices, and to increase my own knowledge of what others think I am doing a poll today. I'm not asking for arguments or asking anybody to prove what is better. I solely want everybody to cast their vote, and comment by saying what their preferred ammunition is, and why. Any pros or cons would be appreciated as well. As we go along, I will try to list what everybody likes bellow, and sum up why our people like them, and any other relevant information that might interest other readers looking around at ammunition.

Thank you, sir, for setting up this poll. I think it will be interesting to know the choices and the rationale of the forum posters.

After watching most, if not all, of these tests, I selected the Federal HST 124 gr. for my Glock 26 as he selected this as his top choice (or the +P version or the +P 147 gr - all essentially equals) with effectively perfect performance.

I was wondering why you would list a brand of ammo hardly anybody ever uses and fail to list a type of ammo that the vast majority of new shooters and novices use: ball.
