The Marine was interviewed on TV. It is important that after shooting someone, it is best to not be interviewed on TV, unless you are trained to not crack a smile when you talk about successfully shooting the robber.
But I guess on the birthday of the Marines, maybe it was ok this once.
Marine despatches a hoodieman climbing in his window
Re: Marine despatches a hoodieman climbing in his window
The hole in the blind looks like a buckshot round (one stray, with the other pellets grouping to make a big hole underneath with two other round patterning left from the shooters perspective), so it's rather disappointing that the thief was able to scurry away from this. It's a pretty tight pattern, you wouldn't think fence climbing would be an option afterwards.

With all the pollution and smog in Cali I imagine I'd have to be cleaning my guns just about all the time.RPBrown wrote:At least he didn't have to get one of these

Re: Marine despatches a hoodieman climbing in his window
I didn't notice the story say if the robber broke the window or found it unlocked/unlatched. Maybe once he clears the grand jury he should consider upgrading his doors and windows.
Tom Gresham with Gun Talk Radio was talking about a different story where a kidnapper walked through an unlocked front door. He pointed out that being armed is a last line of defense. You should set up as many defensive barriers you can. If an intruder can't get into your house at all, then you end up in far less danger. At the least, make sure they cannot get in easily or quietly.
I am glad this story turned out okay.

The intruder threw a rock through the window to break it. Network TV coverage showed the broken window and blinds.MechAg94 wrote:I didn't notice the story say if the robber broke the window or found it unlocked/unlatched. One question I have is about the shot size Reynolds used. The article specifies a 12-gauge shotgun, and Reynolds said he hit the robber in the chest...and the robber fell back out of the window and ran away. Inside small-home residential distances, I'd expect even #8 to preclude much running around. And a COM hit with 00 across the length of an average bedroom should have dropped just about anyone. Haven't seen anything in the news since about anybody turning up dead from a 12-gauge GSW, so I don't know what's going on with this...unless Reynolds really didn't hit what he thought he hit.

I guess not knowing what a live link is, in this case would be a good thing.
Re: Marine despatches a hoodieman climbing in his window
You can see at least three separate holes in the blinds and a larger hole where the shot grouped together. The hole sizes are at least #4 buck, and look like 00 buck to me.Skiprr wrote:The intruder threw a rock through the window to break it.
