Saw this when visiting a residential high rise

Was surprised to see it on a residential building in Downtown Dallas.

Assuming I lived there and the sign was legal would it preclude me from owning a gun in the building ?

I would say no, it does not preclude you from owning a gun, it merely states that a CHL holder may not enter while carrying concealed. Nothing in that sign prevents you from bringing in as many long guns as you want, nor does it stop you from transporting handguns in and out of the building, you just can't carry concealed under your CHL.

Is the sign anywhere near the proper size?

That reads like a "Mug these people" sign to me.

They're put up by people who would never put up a no guns sign on their own homes because of the obvious invitation to criminals.

IIRC you don't need a CHL to carry a handgun concealed from your car to your residence. So CHL and 30.06 would not come into play if you lived there. If you did not live there but were visiting someone you could not legally carry concealed.

I had to crop it to meet the attachment limits but the letters were maybe 1/2 inch tall so I dont think its the correct size to be legal.

I was there for a Party and wasnt carrying but the sign caught my eye anyway ...

Personally I don't feel a concern about going to and from a residence there with a firearm as long as the person I'm going to see is on the lease and doesn't mind that I carry. I wouldn't hang out it common areas and wouldn't go lease a unit there but not worried about visiting.

Yes, that's concealed (unless the range bag is transparent). However, if you're visiting someone, you'd still be carrying it under your CHL.
