Gun Show in Bigtown
I've never been to the Bigtown Gun show or any other one for that matter while carrying. Forgive my ignorance in asking but can I carry and if so, what is the normal proceedure for the chl holder? I plan on going to Bigtown this weekend.
Re: Gun Show in Bigtown
any gun show I have been to (and never been to Bigtown...)
CHL or not, they are posted 30.06.
So if you want to carry your weapon in your holster, at the show, unload it in your car, leave all ammo in the car.
When you walk into the show, there will normally be someone asking if you are bringing a gun in, and they will take your weapon, check for empty, (mag and chamber) and they will normally put a zip tie through it,
then you can reholster or whatever with it.
if it is 30.06, do NOT try to take a loaded gun out and unload it in the building.
Again, this is the gun shows I have been to, yours is likely the same.

Thanks Teamless. I've only been to a couple of Mom and Pop type shows in the past but I didn't carry because I wasn't sure. Guess I figured right for a change. I'll probably just lock it up in the truck.
Re: Gun Show in Bigtown
I typically carry a small back sack/pack and put my gun in it after the check-in process and just carry it there during the show. No mess, no fuss, NO AMMO. I'm very uncomfortable with leaving anything of value in my car, especially my carry weapon, and especially at a gun-oriented venue. After the show, back to the car, cut the zip-tie, load, and away I go.nocents wrote:Thanks Teamless. Equality, rightly understood as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences; wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism. Barry Goldwater
